Dear Hockey Parents,

Registration for the 2023-24 hockey season is now OPEN on WCMHA's GRAY JAY WEBSITE.

  • Go to the link above for our regular season programs and be sure to select the appropriate registration.
  • To register, you will have to login to an existing account or create a new account. For assistance, refer to the GrayJay Pay Registration User Guide 
  • Our registration is linked with the Hockey Canada Registry (HCR) so you will be asked to confirm your information with HCR as you register. IF YOU ARE REFISTERING A RETURNING PLAYER DO NOT CREATE A NEW HCR NUMBER.  YOUR PLAYER IS ALREADY IN THE HCR SYSTEM.  IF YOU ARE HAVING TROUBLE FINDING THEM, YOU MAY HAVE TO TRY DIFFERENT SPELLINGS OR NAME CONFIGURATIONS.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE

  • Registration will close on September 30, 2023After this date, there is no guarantee that you will have a place on the teamLate registrations may but accepted if space is available.
  • If you register after September 30th, a late fee of $50 will be charged.

FEES AND PAYMENT DETAILS

  • GrayJay Pay accepts VISA and Mastercard.  Debit is accepted for online payments but only if you have a VISA or Mastercard debit for online purchases. 
  • Other "offline" payment options, e.g. cash, cheque, or etransfer, are also accepted (select the "offline payment" option at checkout).
  • E-transfers can be sent to wcmha.cobras@gmail.com.  Use "hockey" as the password and be sure to include the player's name and division in the message section.
  • The online payment system offers payment in full or partial payments, which allows you to pay your fees in installments.  You can make payments at any time via GrayJay Pay or other offline accepted methods. 
  • If your player is attending tryouts for a rep team with another association, i.e., TAMHA or SCMHA, do not pay your registration fees until the team selection process is completed. 
  • Registration fees must be paid in full by November 15, 2023. 
  • The operation of our minor hockey program relies on the income from players’ registration, and fundraisers organized by the Association.  It is the responsibility of the parent to have their fees current.   If you are not current with your payments, your child will be asked to come off the ice and not be able to return to practices or games until full payment is made.

  • WCMHA offers discounted rates for players who are new to hockey at either the U7 or U9 level.  If this is your player's first year playing hockey, in any association, you are eligible for the discounted rate as noted below.
  • WCMHA offers discounted rates for families with three or more players registering in our association.  See below for more information.

Our fees for the 2023-24 season are as follows:

U7       $480.00 (First Time Players/New to Hockey $285)

U9       $630.00 (First Time Players/New to Hockey $285)

U11     $655.00 

U13     $655.00 

U15     $675.00

U18     $695.00

** The registration fees quoted above includes the cost of mandatory cash draw tickets, which players can sell.  The ticket cost is $105.00 per player to a max of $255.00 per family.

DISCOUNTS FOR FAMILIES WITH 3 OR MORE REGISTRANTS

WCMHA offers reduced fees for families registering 3 or more children.  For registration fees, the first 2 children in the highest priced categories pay full registration, the rest will pay $200 each.  The maximum amount of cash draw tickets each family is required to sell is $255.  If you qualify for these discounts, please contact WCMHA Registrar, Lisa Porteous (lisajporteous@hotmail.com) to have your fees adjusted.  

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

Families seeking financial assistance for registration fees can contact the following organizations:

If you are applying for financial assistance, please apply prior to submitting your hockey registration. WCMHA may request your application's confirmation number.  If you are applying for financial assistance, please notify WCMHA Registrar, Lisa Porteous (lisajporteous@hotmail.com) to have your fees adjusted. Only the registration portion of the fees noted above are eligible for financial assistance.  The cost of the cash draw tickets is not eligible; therefore, when applying for financial assistance, you must subtract the ticket portion ($105) from the fees quoted above.  Please apply for the exact amount of funding necessary to cover registration fees.  If a player receives excess funds, WCMHA must return those funds to the organization, creating additional work for our volunteers.

REP (A, AA, AAA) HOCKEY

All players attending tryouts for a rep team with another association, i.e., TAMHA or SCMHA, must first register with WCMHA.  You will be required to show proof of registration at tryouts.  Do not pay your registration fees until the team selection process is complete (select the Offline Payment option at checkout). 

WCMHA and SCMHA plan to host rep teams for WCMHA/SCMHA players during the 2023-24 season.  The U11 and U15 teams will be hosted by SCMHA and U13 and U18 teams will be hosted by WCMHA. Ice sessions for those players interested in playing rep hockey will be held to determine if there is the interest and composition to ice competitive teams. More information on these sessions will be available on the WCMHA website and Facebook page.

JERSEY DEPOSIT

For U13 and up, there is a $150 deposit to be paid to the Team Manager at the start of the season (preferably by cheque) as a jersey deposit.  The cheque will only be cashed if the jersey is not returned at the end of the season in good condition (or cash will be returned at the end of the season when jerseys returned in good condition).

FEMALE HOCKEY

All females interested in playing female hockey must register with the Hockey Nova Scotia Central Registry. More information can be found on the Fundy Highland Female Hockey  website.

RESPECT IN SPORT

All newly registered players must have at least one parent/guardian complete the Hockey Nova Scotia Respect In Sport Parent Program before the end of December. More information is available at https://www.hockeycanada.ca/en-ca/hockey-programs/parents/respect-in-sport.

ABUSIVE PARENT DISPUTE RESOLUTION POLICY

The Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission and Hockey Nova Scotia have worked collaboratively to find a way of addressing the valid concerns of HNS to curb abusive behavior of any person involved with HNS while at the same time preserving the ability of children to play hockey despite the actions of parents. After discussions with the Commission and members of the public concerned about this issue, HNS has created an Abusive Parent Dispute Resolution Policy Abusive Parent Dispute Resolution Policy .  

WCMHA PHOTO AND VIDEO WAIVER AND LIVESTREAMING PROTOCOL

Upon registering for participation in hockey with WCMHA, players and guardians must read and agree to WCMHA's Code of Conduct and Live Streaming Protocol, and complete the WCMHA video and photo waiver.
