Requirements

Timekeepers

To become a Timekeeper, you must be 12 years of age or older (by December 31).  WCMHA uses online scoring through GrayJay Leagues.  Timekeepers must have an electronic device for online scoring (if you do not have your own device you can make arrangements to borrow one from the coach or manager).  It is the Timkeeper's responsibility to ensure you are familiar with the GrayJay online scoring platform by reviewing the training materials on our website.  In-person training can be arranged at your request through RIC Michael Jollimore and/or Website Coordinator, Jennifer McDonald (jen.rob.mcdonald@gmail.com).

Game Officials

To become an Official you must be 14 years of age or older (by December 31).

The level system, Level I through Level VI, is the foundation for the training and development of officials across Canada. New Officials start out in Level 1 and advance according to age, experience, and training.

New and existing Officials are required to complete a certification clinic each year.  Clinics are organized by Hockey Nova Scotia.  Click HERE for more information.

WCMHA will reimburse Officials for the cost of the clinics.  Receipts and confirmation of completion must be provided and you must officiate WCMHA games.

Junior Officials

Hockey Nova Scotia now offers clinics for Junior Officials, ages 12-13.  Click HERE for more information.
